"Partition: The Creation of Israel and India, Pakistan and Palestine"
This work explores the British withdrawal from both British Rule India and British Mandate Palestine. Both were British colonies, both colonies had partition plans created by outsiders, and both were officially established within nine months of each other - India on August 15, 1947 and Israel on May 14, 1948. Both partitions involved religious nationalism and issues of disputed territory leading to further conflict in the years to come. They also resulted in the creation of refugees and the suffering of often unmentioned minorities, as well as sharing many other similarities.
