"The Flow of City Life in Film"
What life in cities is like, and what it could or will be like, are pressing questions of the 21st century for those who plan and design cities, as well as for the increasing numbers who live in them. The close study of the representation of cities in film offers some insights that are attuned to what life in particular cities is like, with an emphasis on how shots and scenes depict economies of interaction between life and urban form. Specific examples from Goodfellas and Pulp Fiction indicate how spaces for the self and others are viewed and conceptualized.
