Haun Saussy and Martin Puchner in conversation
"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Language: Translation's Necessary Stumbles" (Saussy) and "Translation? No Problem." (Puchner).
Guest lecturers Dr. Martin Puchner, Harvard University, and Dr. Haun Saussy, University of Chicago, spoke to guests about their interpretations of translation.
This lecture was preceded by a faculty panel on November 3. Panelists included Dr. Kanika Batra, Dr. Yuan Shu, Dr. Wyatt Phillips (all from English), and Dr. John Beusterien (CMLL). The discussion focused on understanding how knowledge in language is translated from one culture to another. Essays by Drs. Puchner and Saussy were springboards for the panelists' papers and conversations.
