NBC Learn Higher Ed Information Sessions Scheduled
Through a special project sponsored by the TTU Office of the Provost, all TTU students, faculty, staff, and researchers now have access through their eRaider ID to the NBC Learn Higher Ed website. Faculty from the College of Education are invited to join us for a customized session with representatives from NBC Learn on Monday, November 10th from 2:00 to 3:00 in Room 151 at the Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Center. This session will introduce participants to NBC Learn and show us how to incorporate these captioned videos (over 15,000 multimedia resources spanning 80 years of television). This set of resources will enable participants to provide a contextual historical perspective along with timely aspects that bring the real world to the classroom and the students to the world. In addition to daily current events, the website features content tied to over 40 concentrations as well as original series such as the "Science of NFL Football", "Science of Golf" and "Science and Engineering of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games." Participants will learn to explore this engaging resource, see how it is integrated in Blackboard, and share best practices for integrating video into face-to-face or blended instruction.
