Board of Regents Grants Emeritus Appointments to Faculty Members

Texas Tech's list of distinguished faculty grows with board's move.

The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents conferred emeritus status on 24 Texas Tech professors.

Emeritus appointments are honorary and are given at retirement and are intended to recognize long and faithful service, or distinguished service to the university.

The chancellor concurred with the recommendation of the president that the Board of Regents grant emeritus status to the individuals listed below:

  • John Blair, Professor of Management (31 years)
  • John Albert Camp, Associate Librarian (23 years)
  • Fred Christoffel, Professor of Theatre and Dance (25 years)
  • Richard Deslippe Associate, Professor of Biological Sciences (18 years)
  • Nelson Dometrius, Professor of Political Science (36 years)
  • Donald Dyal, Dean and Professor of Libraries (12 years)
  • Judith Fischer, Professor of Human Development and Family Studies (35 years)
