Background

The Outreach & Engagement Assessment (encompassing the Raiders Engaged and Faculty Success data platforms) is administered annually by Texas Tech University's  Outreach and Engagement on behalf of the Office of the Provost and the Office of the President. It is the University's primary method for assessing its faculty and staff outreach and engagement activities. The annual survey was developed in partnership with the Office of Planning and Assessment, the Office of Outreach and Engagement, and Application & Development. Data collected in the assessment encompasses outreach and engagement projects and activities as reported on a voluntary basis by faculty and staff from Texas Tech's academic and administrative units. With the 2019 administration, the assessment period of Texas Tech faculty and staff outreach and engagement activities switched from Academic Year to Calendar Year.

Assessment Instruments

Outreach and Engagement has been collaborating with the Office of Planning and Assessment to incorporate survey questions from the traditional Raiders Engaged instrument into Faculty Success to provide faculty with the option to enter their outreach and engagement activities directly in their FS accounts for Annual Faculty Reports. Staff will continue to use the traditional Raiders Engaged instrument to report either their individual or unit-wide outreach and engagement activities. Data submitted via the Raiders Engaged survey is then combined with data submitted via FS to obtain a final institutional report of Texas Tech's outreach and engagement activities for the University's Annual Strategic Plan Update.

Faculty Reporting

If you are a Texas Tech faculty member, please report your outreach and engagement activities using the Faculty Success platform. To ensure inclusion in Annual Faculty Reports, faculty should submit their activities according to their departmental reporting deadlines (which, in many cases, is January 31 of every year).

Staff Reporting

If you are a Texas Tech staff member, please report your outreach and engagement activities using the Raiders Engaged platform. Note that the Raiders Engaged platform is open for entries year-round, except during the month of May. However, staff members are encouraged to enter their activities by April 1 of every year to ensure inclusion in the final institutional summary report for the previous calendar year.
