A Message from Interim Provost Michael Galyean
Thank you for your interest in joining Texas Tech. This is perhaps the most important period in the university’s history since its founding 90 years ago. We are on a trajectory to become a great national research university. There is growth everywhere on campus. In our student population, in our facilities and in the quality faculty and staff we are hiring. I have spent more than 18 years at Texas Tech as a faculty member and administrator. I can tell you from personal experience this is an exciting and rewarding time to join the Red Raider family.
Teaching, Learning & Professional Development
The Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Center (TLPDC) supports the university’s commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Available to faculty at all stages of their careers, the TLPDC offers assistance with teaching resources, state of the art classroom technology, academic integrity and ethics questions, and a variety of symposia and workshops. Also, the TLPDC houses the university’s Teaching Academy, a long-standing entity dedicated to promoting the highest values of teaching and learning and to recognizing our most prominent faculty for teaching excellence.
The Office of the Vice President for Research is committed to supporting faculty research, scholarship and creative activity. The Faculty Proposal Development Program is designed to assist faculty in writing successful proposals. The Transdisciplinary Research Academy demonstrates the university’s commitment to bringing faculty with diverse backgrounds and expertise together to explore questions that have a global impact and intersect with the strategic research themes of the university.
