Pam RobersonExecutive Administrative Associate Pam Roberson serves as the Executive Administrative Associate in the Office of the Provost and reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President at Texas Tech University. In her role, Pam provides total support to the Provost, whose responsibility is vast, as well as manages the office. Pam has been employed at TTU since 1987, working in the Office of Admissions, the Office of General Council/Risk Management Division (at the Health Sciences Center), and the Department of Biological Sciences prior to transferring to the Provost's Office in the fall of 1996. Pam enjoys backpacking (has backpacked in the Grand Canyon 14 times), mountain biking with her husband, camping with her family, and hanging out with her grandchildren.
Amy Richarte Senior Administrative Assistant Amy Richarte serves as the Senior Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Provost and reports to the Senior Vice Provost at Texas Tech University. Amy has been employed at TTU since 2004, working as a student assistant in Biology, Marketing and Promotions for Student Affairs, and the Center for Campus Life prior to transferring to the Office of the Provost in March of 2009. Amy enjoys baking, arts and crafts, traveling with her husband (she and her husband went to New York City in 2004 to see the New Year’s Eve Ball drop in Times Square), and spending time with family and friends.
Janie LopezAdministrative Assistant Janie López serves as Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Provost, as well as Administrative Assistant to the Vice Provost for Planning and Assessment. Janie holds a B. S. in Education of the Hearing Impaired from Texas Tech University, College of Education and is currently working toward an M. E. in Language Literacy. She has been employed by the University since 2004, after several years as a classroom teacher in the public school system. When Janie is not spending time with grandchildren or grand dogs, she enjoys reading and spending quite time with her husband.
Beth BowlinAdministrative Assistant Beth serves as Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Provost, as well as Administrative Assistant to the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Affairs. Beth joins the Office of the Provost from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center – Department of Neurology and UMC Health Systems Administration, where she was employed since 2001. Prior to returning to Lubbock in 1999, Beth was employed by VMX/Octel Communications at the University of Texas at Dallas. Beth enjoys playing tennis, mountain biking, riding horses, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Rob Stewart Senior Vice Provost Rob Stewart currently serves as Senior Vice Provost of Texas Tech University with oversight responsibilities for areas in support of academic programs, faculty advancement, and student matriculation. He previously served for 11 years as an associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies where he began as a new assistant professor at Texas Tech in 1984. He was chair of the Communication Studies department for three years before entering the dean’s office. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in interpersonal communication, public speaking, communication theory, and communication research methods. more »
Sam SegranAssociate Vice President for Information Technology and TTU Chief Information Officer After spending four years in the International Airline industry, Sam Segran joined the Information Technology industry. He has been at Texas Tech University for the last 22 years and has earned a Bachelor's degree in MIS and an MBA in MIS. He started as a Computer Help Desk consultant in 1985 and rose steadily through the ranks. After spending three years as Deputy CIO, he was promoted to his current position of Chief Information Officer for TTU in April 2003. He is active in various professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas LoneStar Education and Research Network (LEARN). His major focus is the Safe Computing Practices campaign at Texas Tech University. His favorite pastimes include reading, traveling, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his wife Jamie and his "baby" T-Rex (5 pound toy poodle).
Valerie PatonVice Provost for Planning and Assessment/ Director of TTU Strategic Planning Valerie Osland Paton reports to the Provost as Vice Provost for Planning and Assessment, leading institutional effectiveness in administrative and academic affairs. She supervises the Office of Planning and Assessment, and the Quality Enhancement Plan/TTU Ethics Center. Dr. Paton represents Texas Tech as the institutional liaison to SACSCOC, member THECB Peer Accountability Group for Value Added, member of the Executive Committee for the Council on Engagement and Outreach of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, and Sponsoring Partner for the National Outreach Scholarship Conference. Dr. Paton previously served as Associate Vice Provost with responsibilities for the development of distributed learning opportunities at Texas Tech University. more »
Gary ElbowAssociate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs Dr. Gary Elbow joined the Texas Tech University faculty in 1970 to teach geography and Latin American studies. He has taught a wide range of courses, including physical geography, world regional geography, human geography, technology and the human landscape, urban geography, historical geography, geography of Middle America, geography of South America, geography of international development, trade and integration in the Western Hemisphere, and Latin American cinema.
Juan Munoz Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education In Fall 2004, Dr. Juan Sanchez Munoz was appointed in the College of Education as an Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. He is also the Associate Director of the College of Education, Center for Research on Leadership and Education. In addition to his faculty appointment, he serves as a Special Assistant to the President for Institutional Diversity, Associate Vice Provost Academic Development and is the founding Director of the TTU Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center. Prior to joining Texas Tech, Dr. Munoz was a faculty member in the Department of Secondary Education at California State University Fullerton. more »
Tibor Nagy Vice Provost for International Affairs Ambassador Tibor P. Nagy, Jr. is currently serving as Vice Provost for International Affairs at Texas Tech University. During the 2002 academic year he was the Department of State’s “Diplomat in Residence” at the University of Oklahoma.
