Pam Roberson serves as the Executive Administrative Associate in the Office of the Provost and reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President at Texas Tech University. In her role, Pam provides total support to the Provost, whose responsibility is vast, as well as manages the office. Pam has been employed at TTU since 1987, working in the Office of Admissions, the Office of General Council/Risk Management Division (at the Health Sciences Center), and the Department of Biological Sciences prior to transferring to the Provost's Office in the fall of 1996. Pam enjoys backpacking (has backpacked in the Grand Canyon 14 times), mountain biking with her husband, camping with her family, and hanging out with her grandchildren.

Amy Richarte serves as the Senior Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Provost and reports to the Senior Vice Provost at Texas Tech University. Amy has been employed at TTU since 2004, working as a student assistant in Biology, Marketing and Promotions for Student Affairs, and the Center for Campus Life prior to transferring to the Office of the Provost in March of 2009. Amy enjoys baking, arts and crafts, traveling with her husband (she and her husband went to New York City in 2004 to see the New Year’s Eve Ball drop in Times Square), and spending time with family and friends.

Kimberly Wagner serves as the Senior Administrative Assistant to Dr. Catherine Parsoneault, Associate Vice Provost in the Office of the Provost. Kimberly has been employed at Texas Tech University for 15 years, serving as the Executive Associate to the Dean at University College, a Business Manager in the College of Human Sciences, Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Provost, and the Manager of Finance and Personnel in the College of Education. With a degree in Theology and Music, Kimberly has traveled extensively, in the past, with Compassion International and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries holding concerts in order to secure sponsors for children. Kimberly continues to be active in her local church singing in the choir, supports missionaries in Peru and Russia, and leads worship for Emmaus events and various local churches throughout West Texas. Kimberly is an active equestrian and loves horses!

Janie López serves as Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Provost, as well as Administrative Assistant to the Vice Provost for Planning and Assessment. Janie holds a B. S. in Education of the Hearing Impaired from Texas Tech University, College of Education and is currently working toward an M. E. in Language Literacy. She has been employed by the University since 2004, after several years as a classroom teacher in the public school system. When Janie is not spending time with grandchildren or grand dogs, she enjoys reading and spending quite time with her husband.

Beth serves as Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Provost, as well as Administrative Assistant to the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Affairs. Beth joins the Office of the Provost from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center – Department of Neurology and UMC Health Systems Administration, where she was employed since 2001. Prior to returning to Lubbock in 1999, Beth was employed by VMX/Octel Communications at the University of Texas at Dallas. Beth enjoys playing tennis, mountain biking, riding horses, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Rob Stewart

Rob Stewart currently serves as Acting Provost of Texas Tech University with oversight responsibilities for areas in support of academic programs, faculty advancement, and student matriculation. He previously served for 11 years as an associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies where he began as a new assistant professor at Texas Tech in 1984. He was chair of the Communication Studies department for three years before entering the dean’s office. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in interpersonal communication, public speaking, communication theory, and communication research methods. more »

Sam Segran

After spending four years in the International Airline industry, Sam Segran joined the Information Technology industry. He has been at Texas Tech University for the last 22 years and has earned a Bachelor's degree in MIS and an MBA in MIS. He started as a Computer Help Desk consultant in 1985 and rose steadily through the ranks. After spending three years as Deputy CIO, he was promoted to his current position of Chief Information Officer for TTU in April 2003. He is active in various professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas LoneStar Education and Research Network (LEARN). His major focus is the Safe Computing Practices campaign at Texas Tech University. His favorite pastimes include reading, traveling, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his wife Jamie and his "baby" T-Rex (5 pound toy poodle).

Peggy Miller

Peggy Miller

Peggy Gordon Miller began her career in higher education at Indiana University Northwest, teaching in the English Department, and was later named chancellor of the campus, where she served in that capacity for a number of years before being named president of the University of Akron. She later served as president of South Dakota State University, from which she retired as president emerita. Additionally, Miller has been a classroom teacher, the interim vice-president for International and Academic Programs for the American Association of Colleges and Universities, and a researcher and writer. more »

During 2012-13, Valerie Osland Paton is a Fellow with the American Council of Education and her host institution is Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso. In her Vice Provost role at Texas Tech University, Paton led institutional planning, assessment, research and effectiveness efforts. She supervised the Office of Planning and Assessment, Institutional Research, Academic Support and Facilities Resources, Quality Enhancement Plan/TTU Ethics Center, Engaged Research and Partnerships, Texas Tech's five regional sites, and eLearning. Paton has represented Texas Tech as Secretary of APLU's Council on Engagement and Outreach Executive Committee, and is conference co-chair for the 2013 Engaged Scholarship Conference (formerly NOSC) to be held at Texas Tech. more »

Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

Dr. Gary Elbow joined the Texas Tech University faculty in 1970 to teach geography and Latin American studies. He has taught a wide range of courses, including physical geography, world regional geography, human geography, technology and the human landscape, urban geography, historical geography, geography of Middle America, geography of South America, geography of international development, trade and integration in the Western Hemisphere, and Latin American cinema.

In Fall 2004, Dr. Juan Sanchez Munoz was appointed in the College of Education as an Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. He is also the Associate Director of the College of Education, Center for Research on Leadership and Education. In addition to his faculty appointment, he serves as a Special Assistant to the President for Institutional Diversity, Associate Vice Provost Academic Development and is the founding Director of the TTU Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center. Prior to joining Texas Tech, Dr. Munoz was a faculty member in the Department of Secondary Education at California State University Fullerton. more »

Ambassador Tibor P. Nagy, Jr. is currently serving as Vice Provost for International Affairs at Texas Tech University. During the 2002 academic year he was the Department of State’s “Diplomat in Residence” at the University of Oklahoma. Previously he was the U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia from 1999-2002, and Ambassador to Guinea from 1996-99. more »

Catherine Parsoneault currently serves as Associate Vice Provost for Planning and Assessment at Texas Tech University, with oversight of the Office of Planning and Assessment and the Ethics Center. She serves as the institution's liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, and as the chief contact with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for all matters pertaining to academic programs. Prior to joining the Provost's staff at TTU in February 2013, Dr. Parsoneault served for twenty years on the staff of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in Austin, Texas. more »
