George Tereshkovich Award

Congratulations to Dr. Sumedha Liyanage, of the Fiber & Biopolymer Research Institute. She has won the George Tereshkovich PSS Outstanding PhD Graduate Student Award for 2017-18. This award is designed to recognize outstanding scholarly accomplishments in the Department of Plant and Soil Science during each academic year. Sumedha received her PhD in Plant and Soil Sciences under the mentorship of Dr. Noureddine Abidi. The focus of her doctoral research was on Exploring Potential Applications of Fourier Transform Infrared Microspectroscopy Imaging.
