Michael Serra
Dr. Serra researches various aspects of human learning, including ways to improve academic learning and studying and the role of metacognition in learning. He also studies cue usage in judgments of learning and the mechanisms underlying multimedia learning. Dr. Serra completed both his MA (UNCG) and PhD (Kent State U.) with John Dunlosky. He then conducted postdoctoral research with Janet Metcalfe at Columbia University. He is the website manager for the International Association for Metacognition (IAM). Dr. Serra has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for journals such as the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition; the Journal of Educational Psychology; the Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology; Experimental Aging Research; and Memory & Cognition.
