Research  
Interests:

My primary research interests are in the interdisciplinary area of close relationships, with an emphasis on love and sex attitudes, relationship satisfaction, and gender. In collaboration with Clyde Hendrick, as well as with a number of doctoral students, I have conducted programmatic research to delineate the role of love and other relationship variables in relationship satisfaction, and to understand peoples' perceptions of the links between love and sex. My current interests include exploration of the concept of respect in relationships and the interface of relationships and health psychology. I am also interested in psychosocial oncology.
