EEO Non-Discrimination Refresher Training
for TTU Employees

EEO Non-Discrimination Training for TTU Employees is a class is for non-supervisory employees, not management.  TTU Supervisors, managers, and executives can select from the classes listed under the Management link. 

This class is required by the State of Texas.  Benefits eligible Faculty and Staff, and Insurance Eligible Graduate Students must attend this refresher every two years.  The class reviews Texas Tech's policies and procedures relating to employment discrimination, including sexual harassment.  Each year in January, every department receives a list of employees who should complete the training during the year.  The employees may complete the training at their convenience, but must complete attendance before December 1st of that year.

Race, color, disability, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), national origin, age (40+), and HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases (unless the HIV/AIDS or other communicable disease poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others or impairs the individual's ability to perform the job).  Texas Labor Code. § 21.010.

Texas' Employment Discrimination Law mandates that training relating to employment discrimination and sexual harassment is required for all state agency employees. Refresher training is required every two years and new employees must be trained within 30 days of starting employment with the agency. See Texas Labor Code. § 21.010.

Who must attend? 

All non- supervisory employees (non-supervisory faculty, staff, and graduate students) must complete this course every two years.  Two options are available:

  1. A self-study course is available on the Internet.  Employees with an eRaider User ID and password who desire to take the course online may self-register by going to the following link: http://www.depts.ttu.edu/quality/instructions/instructionseeeo100.htm
  1. Periodic instructor-led classes are available at TTU.

  1. Log into TotalLMS at http://rod.sumtotalsystems.com/ttu using your eRaider username and password.
  2. Click here to go the course registration link. (Alternatively, you may search TotalLMS for the course title.)
  3. Click the Register button to see the schedule of classes.
  4. Register for the activity date that best fits your schedule.

INITIAL EEO TRAINING REQUIREMENT:  All benefits eligible faculty and graduate students must take the online course within thirty days of employment.  Benefits eligible staff members satisfy this requirement by participation in HIR101, New Employee Orientation.  Employees with an eRaider User ID and password may self-register by going to the following link: http://www.depts.ttu.edu/quality/instructions/instructionseeeo100.htm
