SERVICEplus: BACK to the New Basics

New employees must have an eRaider User ID and password to register online using the new learning management system, TotalLMS.  If  the new employee does not have an eRaider User ID and password yet, simply eMail quality.registration@ttu.edu to reserve a seat.  Please include the employee's name, supervisor's name, department, and telephone number in your request.  Any additional information you provide may also be helpful.  Questions? Excellent customer service is a high priority at Texas Tech University.  To ensure excellent customer service is provided consistently in every university department, SERVICEplus courses are required as part of New Employee Orientation.  This course will help those employees who have high customer contact deliver their absolute best every day.  Participants will learn how to keep their customers coming BACK by learning the skills represented by each letter in the BACK acronym.

The letters of the “BACK” acronym represent: behaviors, attitudes, communication, and knowledge.  Participants will learn how to keep their customers coming back by acquiring the skills represented by each letter in the BACK acronym.

The objectives for this class are:

 Behaviors -- Identify the behaviors that send the right signals to customers.
 Attitudes -- Understand that attitude is how you choose to respond to a customer.
 Communication -- Learn to listen actively with empathy.
 Knowledge -- Learn how to “go the extra mile”.


Each participant will develop a personal action plan to apply the skills they learn in class back on the job.

Who is required to attend? This class is for all new employees who do not have supervisory responsibilities.

All new employees are required to attend a SERVICEplus class as part of their orientation to Texas Tech.

  2. Click here to go the course registration link. (Alternatively, you may search TotalLMS for the course title.)
  3. Click the Register button to see the schedule of classes.
  4. Register for the activity date that best fits your schedule.
