RaiderGate Policies
RaiderGate passes are available to Texas Tech University students only. Passes are distributed at the Escondido Theatre in the Student Union Building West Basement the first class day of the week before the game.
Distribution dates:
TTU vs. Oklahoma = October 1
TTU vs. West Virginia = October 8
TTU vs. Texas = October 29
TTU vs. Kansas = November 5
Individual students = 2 pass max
Student Organizations = 6 pass max
(The student who obtains the RaiderGate pass(es) must be present in the vehicle on the day of the event.)
RaiderGate will be held at the R-1 Parking Lot (TTU campus). RaiderGate will open four (4) hours prior to kickoff. Pass holders must check in at the entry station located at 15th & Detroit Street (TTU campus). Entry gates will close two (2) hours prior to kickoff, and no vehicles will be allowed to enter at that time. RaiderGate activities will end one (1) hour before kickoff, and the lot will be cleared by RaiderGate staff and security, so students can attend the football game.
To ensure that RaiderGate provides a safe and festive atmosphere for Texas Tech University students to prepare for Red Raider football, students are expected to abide by the following guidelines:
- No glass bottles, kegs, or alcoholic beverage containers are permitted.
- All beverages must be in a RaiderGate cup and it must be emptied before leaving the lot. RaiderGate cups can be obtained at the check-in station as you enter the lot.
- No drinking devices (i.e. funnels, tables, ice blocks, etc.) or drinking games.

No electronic recording devices are permitted during the performance of live entertainment.
- No animals or pets are permitted at RaiderGate except for service animals
- RaiderGate participants are expected to dispose of all trash in the trash receptacles, aluminum cans are expected to be disposed of in blue recycling bags, and dispose of all coal in the coal receptacles provided. Trash bags and blue recycling bags will be provided to individuals at the check-in station as you enter the lot.
- All driving aisles must remain open during RaiderGate to facilitate access for emergency vehicles.
- All vehicles entering the lot must be street legal. No golf-carts, go-carts, etc.
- No oversized vehicles or cookers are permitted at RaiderGate. All vehicles and cookers must fit into the parking space for which the pass has been assigned.
- No vehicles are allowed in the lot to drop off or pick up passengers, trailers, tailgate supplies, etc.
- Once a vehicle has entered the lot, it must remain there until halftime of the football game.
- Vehicles without RaiderGate passes will be towed at owner’s expense.
- Texas Tech University is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property of RaiderGate participants.
- RaiderGate passes are the property of Texas Tech University. It is against the law to use state property in a profit-making venture. RaiderGate passes cannot be sold.
All RaiderGate participants are expected to abide by the Code of Student Conduct, all University policies (e.g., Student Handbook), and all applicable laws.
RaiderGate is a privilege to Texas Tech University students.
Texas Tech University reserves the right to deny participation to anyone for adequate cause. Texas Tech University reserves the right to suspend any individual’s or group’s privileges to participate in RaiderGate or to terminate RaiderGate at any time for violations of these guidelines.
