Tuscan Moon

Gala 2008

6 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2008
National Ranching Heritage Center
3121 Fourth St., Lubbock, Texas

Bella Toscana. The land of sweeping plains which become bucolic hills and majestic mountain vistas. It is the home to ancient cities like Pisa and Florence with beauty both sublime and surreal. Join us in celebrating a landscape that is timeless and has served as the inspiration of countless artists, travelers and romantics.

Tuscany is also the birthplace of one of the oldest cattle breeds on the Earth - the Chianina (pronounced kee-ah-nee-na). This large and ancient line of livestock was bred for its superb meat well before the rise of the Roman Empire and was introduced into North America in the 1960s.

Spend an evening Under the Tuscan Moon at the National Ranching Heritage Center’s 2008 Gala, May 17, at the NRHC.

Patio Reception: 6 p.m., followed by 7 p.m. dinner and entertainment.

This year’s Gala committee is turning the Center's large, shaded brick patio into a Tuscan street scene.

Also, meet artist Doug West of Arroyo Seco, N.M., and see “The Art of Doug West” exhibitions in the Main and Macy Galleries.

Tickets are $75 each • Reserved seating tables for eight are $1,000 • Reservation deadline is May 13.
