Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the DAC for?

The DAC is for anyone who wants to gain a competitive edge in their field – because it all starts with data. The DAC will help you gain the skills necessary to fuel data-driven business decisions in any environment. The program is open to all Texas Tech undergraduate students who meet the DAC program requirements.

What are the DAC program requirements?

Applicants must have:

  • Junior/Senior Standing
  • 2.75 Texas Tech GPA
  • All course prerequisites met prior to taking each DAC course

Additionally, all DAC courses must be taken in residence.

What will I gain from completing the DAC?

You will build solid skills in data analytics. You will learn how to speak the language of data analytics, find and create value held within data, provide critical information for key decisions, and more. Upon completion of the required coursework (at a C level or better), the Certificate in Data Analytics will be included on your academic transcript.

What courses will I take in the DAC?

The sequence in which you take the courses is flexible, however, assuming that DAC program requirements are still met. For example, you could follow a 3/1 sequence over one year, or a 2/1/1 sequence over 1½ years. In other words, the DAC course load can be customizable to your unique circumstances.

Can I take all four courses in one semester?

No. ISQS 3348 is a pre-requisite to ISQS 3358. Additionally, since ISQS 4370 makes use of Python, it is preferred that all students take ISQS 3345 prior to enrollment.
