Academics

The Scovell Business Leadership Program is composed of four components – experiential living, unique learning opportunities, international experience and and mentoring.

Learn it by living it.

Scovell Business Leaders have the opportunity to live in the Business Learning Community located in Murray Hall. This learning community provides a unique experience in which students live and learn together and develop strong connections with peers. Students living in the Business Learning Community also have the opportunity to participate in unique extracurricular programming that enhances traditional coursework. Learn more.

Gain real-world experience.

The Scovell Business Leadership Program provides opportunities for students to engage in various service learning projects and gain real-world knowledge from industry professionals. Students will apply the knowledge gained and skills learned at Rawls in a real-world setting through faculty-led service learning projects. These projects will require students to lead by example in converting theory into practice to achieve results. View recent projects.

Go global. Broaden your perspective.

During the summer of their junior year, Scovell Business Leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a unique international business experience that extends beyond a typical study abroad program. Scovell Business Leaders will learn not only from faculty-led courses but also from an immersion into a foreign culture. Leadership will be learned through collaboration with a diverse group in a foreign country.

Interact and grow for success.

Leaders are made through developing positive relationships and a commitment to one's continued self-improvement. Each student will be assigned an academic mentor, a professional mentor, and a leadership coach to provide guidance and advice. In turn, the Scovell Business Leaders will use this guidance to mentor student peers and grow their leadership skills through networking.
