About Arren

Arren is a senior accounting and finance major from Albuquerque, NM.

Before attending Texas Tech University, Arren played a year and a half of collegiate basketball at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA. As a freshman, he carried the team's highest GPA, was named a Pacific West Scholar Athlete, and was involved in Homeless Ministries, an organization that ministered and fed the homeless in downtown San Diego.

In his year and a half at Tech, Arren has already gained leadership experience in his many organizations. He is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, where he serves as Tresurer. He is member of Student Alumni Board, Texas Tech Honors College, Rawls Ambassadors, and the Rawls Business Leadership Program. Last year, Arren was accepted in Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, honoring the top 10% in the junior, and Mortar Board Honor Society, honoring the top 50 seniors at Texas Tech. Arren was also a finalist for the Texas Business Hall of Fame Scholarship, nominated by Dean Lance Nail.

This past summer, Arren traveled to more than 10 different countries, 2 continents, and thousands of miles with the RBLP group in South America, study abroad in Rome, Italy, and a four week backpacking trip across Europe. He has accepted a tax internship with Pwc in Dallas for Summer 2016.

After graduating, Arren plans to earn his CPA license and work for a big 4 accounting firm. Afterwards, he hopes to pursue a career in finance or become a partner at his firm. His two major goals are to one day be the CFO of a fortune 500 company and to start his own nonprofit that works with children with single parents.

Besides traveling the world, Arren enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing sports, and being greatly involved at Texas Tech.
