Area of Management Faculty Accomplishments

Please join the Rawls College in congratulating these Area of Management faculty for their recent successes.
Bill Gardner, Ph.D.
Gardner is the recipient of the Leadership Quarterly 2016 Best Paper Award for his paper, "A meta-analytic review of authentic leadership and transformational leadership: A test for redundancy." The paper is co-authored by George C. Banks, Kelly D. McCauley and Courtney Guler.
He is also the recipient of the Leadership Quarterly 2015 Decentennial Infuential Article Award for his paper, "Authentic leadership development: Getting to the root of positive forms of leadership," which is co-authored by Bruce J. Avolio. This paper is the second most requested article from the Leadership Quarterly from January to June 2017.
Lastly, he received the 2017 Emerald Citation of Excellence Award for his paper, "Leadership theory and research in the new millennium: Current theoretical trends and changing perspectives," which is co-authored by Jessica E. Dinh, Robert G. Lord, Jeremy D. Meuser, Robert C. Liden and Jinyu Hu. It is the most cited Leadership Quarterly article since 2014 and most requested Leadership Quarterly article from January to June 2017.
Tyge Payne, Ph.D.
Payne has recently been elected as a fellow of the Southern Management Association. He also received the Outstanding Reviewer Award from Group and Organization Management and joined the Editorial Review Board at the Journal of Business Venturing.
His paper, "Family ownership and family involvement as antecedents of strategic action: A longitudinal study of initial international entry," has been accepted to publication at the Journal of Business Research. The paper is co-authored by R.E. Evert, J. Sears and J.A. Martin.
Sandy Ryan, Ph.D.
Ryan has been appointed to the National Executive Board of Sigma Iota Epsilon. The organization encourages and recognizes scholastic excellence and promotes cooperation between academic and practical aspects of management. She has also been accepted into the Service-Learning Scholars Program for 2017-2018.
Don Stull, Ph.D.
Stull has been issued his fourth US Patent (9.592.313) for "Microwave Disinfection and Sterilization" and has been inducted into the National Academy of Inventors.
He also negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding with Bimbo Bakeries, the world's largest bakery. The MOU provides collaboration for Bimbo and MicroZap to work on bread shelf life extension, purchase of machines and manufacturing of equipment.
Tibble served as the marketing and logistics organizer for the Academy of Management. She, along with two other organizers, planned and coordinated an all-day doctoral consortium for more than 110 participants. They invited renowned scholars and editors in the field to come and speak to the new doctoral students in order to help prepare them for the coming years. This year's event was success with 126 participants.
Vahidnia has recently been invited to join the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society.
