Ms. Ovalle received her degrees from Texas Tech University: a B.S. in Biology and an M.A. in English. Since 1983, she has taught here at Texas Tech, as well as at the University of the Incarnate Word and within the Alamo Community College system. She has taught writing and speaking seminars to city employees and military personnel in San Antonio. While in San Antonio, she earned her "Highly Qualified" certification to teach Special Education. She returned to teach at Texas Tech in 2012.
