About Surya

Dr. Surya B. Yadav is a professor of information systems in the Rawls College of Business. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Banaras University in 1972, an M.Tech. degree from IIT Kanpur, India in 1974, and his Ph.D. degree in business information systems from Georgia State University, Atlanta in 1981. He has published in several journals including Communications of the ACM, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Intelligent Information Systems, and Decision Support Systems. Dr. Yadav served as the Department Head of the Area of ISQS for nine years. He was co-director of Software Engineering Research Training and Education Center for several years. He continues to provide leadership in the Area and in the College. In most recent terms, he has been working on reviving the M.S. MIS program. He has been instrumental in increasing the M.S. MIS enrollment from a mere four students to over 60 students in just two years.
