Ying Wang

About Ying

Ying is currently a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate of Management Information System in the Area of Information System and Quantitative Sciences in the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. Before she joined the Ph.D. program in 2012, Ying obtained an M.B.A in general business from Texas Tech University, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology, and a B.A. in English (dual degree) from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She also had three years of work experience in credit risk assessment in HSBC Bank (China). 

Her research interests primarily focus on business analytics, adoption and diffusion of smart technology, and text analytics techniques. Her dissertation focuses on investigating the effects of online reviews on product sales by considering the structure of reviews and the effect of time. Her work has been presented at national and international conferences, such as Americas Conference on Information Systems, Association for Information Systems - Special Interest Group on Human-Computer Interaction (Pre-ICIS workshop), IEEE International Conference on Service Systems and Service Management, and Big XII+ MIS Symposium.
