Nettie was born and raised in Lubbock before moving overseas to Vienna, Austria as a teenager. She then attended Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in European Studies and European Integration. Afterwards she attended the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna in Vienna, Austria where she received an M.A. in Advanced International Studies in 2015.
Having recently returned to Lubbock, Nettie joined the BACS team in July 2016 as the Assistant Testing Center Manager of the brand new Testing Center at the Rawls College of Business. She will be responsible for executing directives of the Testing Center Manager, coordinating the activities of student workers as well as handling concerns and other inquiries by students accessing the Testing Center.
Previously, Nettie has worked in higher education as an assistant to the Carleton University OnLine (CUOL) department at Carleton University in Ottawa. During her time at CUOL, she assisted in proctoring local and external exams, arranging distance exam materials and other tasks related to the administration of exams. It was during this time that she found her passion for working in education. Nettie later went on to work as an assistant at her university in Vienna and as a high school teacher at an international school in Vienna.
