Samantha began working in her position as Technical Services Manager for B.A. Computing Services in April of 2015. In her first few months with BACS Samantha lead the effort to deploy new machines to replace over 250 older systems throughout the college in a much shorter time than previous deployments of this size and has since overseen the deployment and maintenance of the systems in the Testing Center and Behavioral Research Lab.
Prior to joining the BACS team Samantha spent four and a half years working with the IT Service Desk for one of the largest private healthcare organizations in the country. While there, Samantha’s primary responsibility was to assist in supporting the IT concerns of their 40,000+ users on a daily basis. In addition to answering these phone calls, she was also responsible for acting as a liaison between the service desk and a region of the health system, designing webpages and web apps to aid the service desk in being more efficient and transparent, and training both new technicians to begin answering calls and seasoned technicians on changes in the technology.
Samantha was born and raised in Hobbs, NM where she shared her love for computers with her father, an IT Technician of over 30 years now. She spends much of her free time working on websites and web apps and acting as tech support for friends and family members. Samantha completed a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology degree from New Mexico State University in 2014 and is working on completing a Master of Graphic Information Technology degree from Arizona State University this spring.
