Reservations

There is no fee for reservations of cardiovascular equipment or the racquetball courts. Persons who make reservations must check in at the Equipment Issue window to claim their reservation. Late arrival or failure to check in may cause loss of the reservation.

Cardiovascular Equipment
Reservations for cardiovascular equipment may be made one day in advance or on the day of workout by calling (806) 742-3352 or in person at the Equipment Issue window.

Equipment includes: Stairmaster, treadmill, recumbent bike, elliptical, and Lifecycles. Time blocks are for 20 or 40 minutes, with a 40-minute maximum. An individual’s total combination of reservations may not exceed 60 minutes per day. The earliest possible time block begins at 6:20 a.m. Individuals neglecting to check in within five minutes of their reserved time will forfeit all of the remaining time.

Racquetball and Handball
Reservations for racquetball, handball or squash court may be made one day in advance or on the day of play by calling (806) 742-1995 or in person at the Equipment Issue window. Court reservations are made on the hour with the earliest possible reservation beginning at 8 a.m. Courts not claimed within 10 minutes become available to those individuals on the waiting list. There is also a daily challenge court (Court 7) system.

Tennis Reservations (806) 742-1995
The eight recreational tennis courts, located behind the Aquatic Center, will be lighted until 12 midnight, Monday through Friday. Reservations are taken in the Recreational Sports Office during office hours.

Picnic Shelter and Sand Volleyball Courts (806) 742-3351
Both of these facilities, located southeast of the SRC, are available for individual and group use. Reservations are taken in the Recreational Sports Office during office hours. The lights will automatically turn on to low voltage illumination at dusk. There is a red button on each pole. Push the button for full lighting for 1 hour. If playing for more than one hour, the button will have be be pushed again--they should resume full lighting.

Aquatic Center (806) 742-3896
The Aquatic Center may be reserved during open rec swim for parties of up to 20 people. Family hours (after 5 P.M. Tuesday and Friday as well as weekend hours) must be observed for children's parties. The fee is $3 per person plus a $10 administrative fee. The Aquatic Center can also be rented after hours. Recreational Sports Outdoor Spaces (i.e. fields) (806) 742-3351
Playing fields such as the West Softball complex and the recreational fields located east of the Rec Center may be reserved for special events. Please call 742-3351 for information.

Student Rec Center Facilities (806) 742-3351
Certain rooms and areas can be reserved in the Student Rec Center. This is free to student groups during Rec Center hours; there will be charges for additional hours and/or non-university use.
