Wichita Climbing
The Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge is located over a fault line in the middle of the plains of Oklahoma. The landscape outside Lawton suddenly changes from flat plains, where the original fence lines from the dustbowl can still be seen as small ridges in the dirt, to a mountainous region full of elk, bison, and great rock climbing. The climbing is granite slab and crack at various locations. If you have never climbed outside before, this is a great trip to have as a first experience. If you have climbed in the Wichitas before, we will be sure to set up some routes to give you a challenge.
