Latir Backpacking

This will be a multi-day backpacking trip in the Latir Wilderness Area in northern New Mexico. Learn about necessary backpacking skills such as packing efficiently, wilderness navigation, traveling in bear country, and more. Enjoy the clean mountain air, diverse flora and fauna, and spectacular mountain views. This trip is for the enthusiastic hiker and camper, and we hope you will join us!

How to pack for a backpacking trip, pack fitting, backcountry cooking, Leave No Trace techniques, staying warm, water purification, etc.

Prior Experience:
None required

Physical/Mental Challenge:
Moderately strenuous. Packs will weigh up to 40lbs and we will be hiking at higher elevations. Cool days should be expected with cold nights. Traveling on snow should also be expected.
