The Cycling Club at Texas Tech University is a diverse group of students who all share a passion for the exercise and sport of cycling. Some of our members are “Cat 1” ranked racers, some of our members are interested in the fitness aspect of the sport, and some members just enjoy a nice weekend ride. No matter their level of intensity or participation, we encourage all our riders to embrace cycling, and hope to develop the interests of our members into lifelong passions for the experience.
The Cycling Club participates in both road and mountain biking, and is currently developing a cyclocross and track training program. Our competitive team is aiming to regain its status as one of the top teams in the conference, and competes regularly at a variety of venues.
The Cycling Club also offers multiple weekly riding opportunities, including a Saturday morning ride with a group leader. The Club participates in trips and training camps at diverse locations, including Palo Duro Canyon, New Mexico riding destinations, and as far afield as Colorado. Opportunities are always available to participate in races, with a variety of skill levels and challenges available. The main goal of the Cycling Club is to have fun, and create a team-based atmosphere for member success.
