Water Polo (M)
The Texas Tech Water Polo Club is a sanctioned team run by students interested in playing water polo competitively at a national level. The club was created three years ago and currently has 20 members. The team has finished in the top four out of eight Texas club teams since the clubs inception in the league. Our competitive season, run by the Collegiate Water Polo Association, takes place in the fall during which we have three tournaments. In the spring, we typically participate in three more tournaments to ready ourselves for the fall season. Combined with the women’s team, we practice two hours per day, three days per week. Practices consist of swimming, drills, and scrimmages.
Besides practicing and competing with each other, all members are encouraged to participate in various community service events and other group get-togethers. We currently have three officer positions including president, vice-president and treasurer. This provides members with opportunities to develop leadership skills and manage responsibilities. We welcome everyone interested in learning how to play water polo. We hope to host our first tournament in the fall.
