Chapter 32 - Veteran's Educational Assistance Program (VEAP)
Basic Eligibility:
- Entered military service after January 1, 1977.
- Contributed to the program and did not contract under a delayed entry program.
- You served for a continuous period of 181 days or more.
- Your discharge or release was under conditions other than dishonorable.

Benefits are dependent upon total contributions made and are calculated individually. No allowance is made for payment for dependents. Active duty service members may receive full VA educational entitlement under VEAP. Under specified conditions, participants under VEAP may be eligible to convert their entitlement to the NEW/Mongomery GI Bill-Chapter 30.
To apply for this Chapter, obtain and submit the application for VA Educational Benefits, form 22-1990, along with a copy of your discharge papers-DD214, to the Veteran's Coordinator, Room 117, West Hall.
Benefits are paid on the first of each month for the previous month.
