Chapter 35 - Dependent Educational Assistance
This portion of Title 10 U.S. Code authorizes benefits to dependents and survivors of veterans who are 100% permanently and totally disabled from service-connected disabilities or injuries, or who have died from a service-connected cause, were a prisoner-of-war or where missing in action.
Basic Monthly Rates as of 10/1/09:

To apply for this chapter, obtain and submit the Application for Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance, Form 22-5490, and if possible a copy of the marriage license for a spouse or a birth certificate for a child to the Veteran's Coordinator, Room 117, West Hall.
Benefits are paid between the 1st and 5th of each month by mail for the previous month. Direct deposit is not yet available for Chapter 35.
