Two Whitacre College of Engineering professors earned grants through the National Science Foundation' Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) program.

Miao He, an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will use the grant to fund research related to integrating wind energy resources into existing grids. For the other recipient, Golden Kumar, an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the grant will fund research to improve the commercial viability of metallic glass.

The CAREER program offers the NSF's most prestigious awards to support faculty members who are in the early stages of their careers and show potential to serve as academic role models.
