University Welcomes New Leadership

 

Texas Tech welcomed a new provost and threeGaylean new deans during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Michael Galyean was selected to serve as Provost and Senior Vice President after serving as interim provost from August 2016 to March 2017. Previously Gaylean served as dean of the Texas Tech College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Texas Tech also welcomed three new deans.

After serving as an associate professor at Cornell University for 15 years, Texas Tech alumnus Dr. Jim Williamson assumed the position of dean of the College of Architecture on August 1.

Dr. Noel Zahler began his appointment as dean of the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual and Performing Arts on September 1.

Margaret Williams began as dean of the Rawls College of Business April 24.
