Briefly describe in narrative form important information to assist potential applicants in assessing their likely fit with your program. This description must be consistent with the program's policies on intern selection and practicum and academic preparation requirements:

The Texas Tech University Student Counseling Center Doctoral Internship is an APA accredited internship for doctoral students in either counseling or clinical psychology. The program offers training in individual, couples, and group therapy; providing clinical supervision; developing and providing outreach; as well as psychological assessment (Personality and ADHD testing.) We offer a number of optional rotations as well, which allows interns to get more focused training in areas of particular interests. We provide a supportive atmosphere of professionals who are enthusiastic about training and supervision. We believe it is important for interns to develop awareness and reflection about themselves, their identities, and their experiences as these aspects impact who they are as psychologists.

Applicants should have completed all coursework toward their doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology prior to starting the internship, including at least 350 hours of practicum Intervention experience. Applicants are required to have passed comprehensive exams and to have their dissertation proposal approved by the ranking deadline. Applicants should also have previous counseling center experience.
