Manage Your Mood

Manage Your Mood (formerly Feel Better Fast) is a four-week life skills group designed to address mild depression, excessive worry, and anxiety. This group gives students the tools needed to manage their symptoms and function at a higher level in their daily lives.  Manage Your Mood utilizes a Dialectical Behavior Therapeutic (DBT) approach to help students learn ways to understand challenges and utilize effective coping strategies. DBT emphasizes healthy emotion management, detaching from unhelpful thought patterns, interacting with others in a more effective manner, and coping with situations which seem overwhelming. These concepts serve as a guide for weekly interventions.  Manage Your Mood meets once a week throughout the academic year. To get started, go to the SCC Walk-In Clinic  hours and ask your initial assessment counselor about Manage Your Mood.
