Outreach Services
In order to more fully the needs for the Texas Tech campus, the Student Counseling Center (SCC) implements an active outreach program for students, faculty, and staff. Based on the concepts of prevention and wellness, the SCC sponsors or co-sponsors a number of "large-scale" outreach activities throughout the academic school year. These activities are targeted to issues that are specifically relevant to the campus community and include topics such as substance abuse prevention, mental health awareness, body image and healthly eating, sexual assault prevention, and anxiety management. These activities are open to the entire campus community and are designed to foster awareness and prevention in a dynamic way.
In addition to our large-scale activities the SCC also offers presentations tailored to the needs of unique groups on campus. These presentations are usually at the request of a student organization or faculty and may cover topics that are more applicable to smaller portions of the student body. Requests for presentations should be directed to Dr. Klint Hobbs or Dr. Erin Snyder.
