Healthy Relationships Workshop

"Smart Dating: Starting Off on the Right Foot" (Erin Snyder, Ph.D.)
Location: Student Wellness Center room 100
Time: 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm

Dating in college can be really exciting, but it does present some challenges. This interactive presentation will help participants gain a better idea about what a healthy dating relationship looks like as well as identify dating "red flags" from the start.

"How to Manage Conflict in a Relationship" (Klint Hobbs, Ph.D.)
Location: Student Wellness Center room 205
Time: 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm

This workshop focuses specifically on the stages that partners go through in relationships. Common pitfalls to healthy communication are identified for each stage, and participants are coached on how to resolve problems in a mutually satisfying way. Participants’ conflict styles will be identified and discussed as well, and participants will learn to work through conflict and grow closer to their partners.

“Making Relationships Work in School”   (Klint Hobbs, Ph.D.)
Location: Student Wellness Center room 100
Time: 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm

There are a number of unique challenges to staying in a relationship and managing school at the same time. This workshop addresses problems that occur when one or both partners are students. Time, money, communication, and distance are all potential barriers to relationships that can seem worse with the added pressure that school brings. Participants will learn how to prepare for and work through these issues.
