Texas Tech University

Newly Admitted Students

The mission of Student Disability Services is to enhance each student's learning through the provision of programs and services for students with a disability.

Our goal is to assist you in attaining your academic, career, and personal goals -- regardless of any physical, learning, psychological, psychiatric, or other documented disability you may have.

Register with Student Disability Services

As a newly admitted TTU student, you will need to complete the following steps to register with Student Disability Services:

  • Complete an application for Student Disability Services and return it along with the documentation for the disability. Students needing only classroom accommodations and assistive technology support should only complete the first two pages. Eligible students wishing to participate in the TECHniques Center must also complete the supplemental page.
  • Mail completed applications, along with documentation to: Student Disability Services, Box 45007, Lubbock TX 79409-5007
  • Once approved, the student will meet with an academic counselor from Student Disability Services for an intake interview, during which approved classroom accommodations will be reviewed and explained. TECHniques Center applicants will then meet with an academic counselor in the TECHniques Center for program information.

Application deadlines:

Student Disability Services/Classroom Accommodations: 10 days prior to date of services needed

TECHniques Center: Space is limited, causing deadlines to vary each semester. Completed applications are processed in the order they are received. Please contact the TECHniques office for current information.
