Shred Week will be March 7 through March 11. This service will be provided at no cost to you or your department. With the large volumes recorded from previous Shred Days, we ask that you follow these guidelines to help ensure the safe destruction of unwanted confidential items:
- All documents must be kept in a sturdy box with a lid – we will not be able to accept boxes without lids or boxes that are falling apart.
- Please take all documents out of binders and folders with metal rings
- Red Raider Shred is not able to shred CDs or hard drives
To schedule your free document disposal shredding and recycling services, please complete the Registration Form.
* CAUTION: In accordance with state law and TTU OP10.10 and TTUHSC OP10.09, all master copies of state records, regardless of their format, must fulfill their minimum retention time before being properly disposed. The Texas Tech University System's records retention schedule is available at http://www.swco.ttu.edu/recordsmanagement/rrs.html . Each department should fill out and maintain its own disposition log to document when master copies of records are disposed. A blank disposition form can be found at http://www.swco.ttu.edu/recordsmanagement/dform.htm. Further records management inquires can be sent to Lynn Whitfield at firstname.lastname@example.org *
