Student Healthcare
While all students who pay a Medical Services Fee may visit Thompson Hall for checkups, some students find that their larger health care expenses may not be covered by their parent’s health care plan. For these students, the SGA contracts with a health insurance provider to offer students quality health care coverage at affordable rates. Information packets are available in the SGA office or may be requested by phone to be mailed to students and/or parents.

This year Texas Tech University has a new student health insurance provider, Academic Health Plans. AHP has partnered with UniCare to provide the students of Texas Tech the very best in student health insurance. Temporary Insurance for Graduates
Academic Health Plans has partnered with Fortis Insurance Company to offer a Temporary Major Medical Insurance for students graduating from college.
