Support Operations For Academic Retention
Community College Transfer Relations
Dr. Kiser is the Senior Director of Support Operations for Academic Retention (SOAR), Raider Ready, and Community College Transfer Relations. She received her Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctorate of Education at Texas Tech University. Dr. Kiser has worked with Texas Success Initiative for five years before becoming Director of SOAR in May 2009. Currently, Dr. Kiser manages Community College Transfer Relations, Raider Ready, and four programs within the department of SOAR; The Learning Center, Supplemental Instruction, Texas Success Initiative, and Programs for Academic Development and Retention. Dr. Kiser has worked at Texas Tech University for 17 years. Dr. Kiser is an active CASA volunteer for seven years, loves Red Raider sports and Texas Tech University, and she will always be a Red Raider! Wreck'Em Tech!
Associate Director - Learning Center
Patrick Bohn is the Assistant Director of The Learning Center within the SOAR department. In his position, Patrick is responsible for the day-to-day operation of The Learning Center and its tutors. Patrick loves working with students in several different capacities. He previously worked for the Recreational Sports Department (2004-2007). Patrick received his BA in Business Administration from Washington State University in 2002 and his MS in Sport Management from the University of Kentucky in 2004. He is currently pursuing his Ed.D in Higher Education here at TTU. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children when he is away from the office. He is an avid college football fan!
Lead Advisor - Support Operations For Academic Retention
Diana received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington where she earned her teaching certificate. She was a public school educator for 9 years and gained experience in learning styles and differentiated instruction. She is currently working on her M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling and is a member of Kappa Delta Pi. Diana uses her passion for teaching and learning to assist students and looks forward to helping them reach their goals and achieve academic success. In her spare time she enjoys exercising, watching Tech baseball and basketball, and spending time with her husband and three dogs.
Academic Specialist - Support Operations For Academic Retention
Alicia received her Bachelor of Science in Community, Family, and Addiction Sciences from Texas Tech University. During her undergraduate, Alicia worked as an academic tutor in the TECHniques Center, helping students with learning disabilities. Outside of work, she volunteers with numerous nonprofit organizations, including Extreme Youth Leadership and Lubbock's own Hub City Veg Community. Outside of work, Alicia enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and cooking.
Senior Business Assistant - Support Operations For Academic Retention
April received her Associates of Arts from South Plains College. April was born and raised right here in Lubbock Texas and doesn’t have any plans to leave the Lone Star State. April hopes to finish her Bachelor’s degree while working for SOAR. In her spare time April loves to read, watch movies, play pool, and spend time with her 2 sons and husband.
