About the Texas Tech Summer Math Academy
The Texas Tech Summer Math Academy will be held on Texas Tech's main campus in Lubbock, TX. At the Texas Tech Summer Math Academy, students have the opportunity to collaborate with Texas Tech mathematics faculty and staff in a project-based work environment. During the camp, students will be exposed to many different facets of mathematics and learn to apply these through projects and research.
Program Requirements
In order to receive the most benefit from the camp, each student is required to have a certain basic knowledge of mathematics. Therefore, we require that each student has received, at the time of the camp, an 'A' or 'B' in High School Algebra I and Geometry. Not all students who fulfill these requirements will be accepted. In order to provide personal attention and a valuable research experience, we will only accept a limited number of students. All students must complete the online application and submit one letter of recommendation before the April 5th deadline.
How do I Apply?
Simply click HERE or on the "Apply Now!" link above to access our online application. In addition to completing the online application, students must submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher; applications will not be considered unless the letter of recommendation is received prior to the application deadline. We will review all applications and contact the students via email to notify them of their status regarding this year's program. If a student is accepted they will then need to complete and return the final paperwork along with the application fee by May 1st. The application fee is non-refundable after May 15th.
If you are interested in attending the Texas Tech Summer Math Academy at one of our remote locations, you do not need to complete the online application. Please contact the director at that location for their application requirements.
