Early Alert Program
The office of Student Retention & Assessment is working with Noel-Levitz and the retentionRT program to establish a predictive model for student attrition at Texas Tech University. Currently, we are focusing on the retention of sophomore-level students. After studying the retention rates of first year students and second-year students, we found a significant number of students leaving the university after the second year of college. With retentionRT, we will be able to identify second-year students who are at-risk of leaving, to determine why they are at-risk, and to connect them with appropriate programs and services to aid in their retention. At this time, Noel-Levitz is working on our predictive model and we should have initial data available as the fall 2010 term begins. The project will continue through the fall 2010 and spring 2011terms.
