The TECHniques Center-Application Process
To apply to become a participant of the
TECHniques Center, potential students need to complete three
separate application processes.
Admission to TTU
Potential students need to apply and be accepted to Texas Tech
University through the Office of Admissions and School Relations.
Applicants desiring special consideration should indicate so.
Applicants who do not meet the standard admissions requirements may
want to attend a community college and transfer into Texas Tech
University.
Accommodations from Student Disability Services
In order to request reasonable academic accommodations, students
should submit to Student Disability Services an application and
sufficient documentation of their disability. Student Disability
Services, the legally mandated disability support program at TTU,
reviews documentation of a student's disability and determines
eligibility for academic accommodations.
Application to the TECHniques Center
Students should submit an application for participation in the
TECHniques Center, and include sufficient documentation of their
disability, which includes a specific diagnosis of the disability,
indication of the substantial limitation to learning,
recommendations for reasonable academic accommodations, and
comprehensive testing that includes an intelligence test and
achievement test (not brief forms). Applications are processed on a
first-come, first-served basis after all necessary information has
been received.
