TECHniques Center- Academic Enhancement program



Services Overview

In order to provide supplemental academic support services to meet the needs of, and to promote the retention of, undergraduate students with documented evidence of learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders, staff members work closely with students to provide support, assistance, and guidance.  Student participants of the TECHniques Center receive these support services: 

  • Individual support from staff members to build self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-advocacy

  • Assistance with academic major/career decision-making, academic advising/course scheduling, and time management/organizational skills

  • Content and study skills tutoring for enrolled courses by CRLA certified tutors

  • Academic performance monitoring through faculty of enrolled courses

  • Technology to enhance learning: computer hardware, software and training seminars

  • Encouragement and guidance to co-curricular involvement opportunities

  • Referrals to various academic support services
