Larry Phillippe, M.R.C.
Managing Director
Larry
grew up in Idalou, Texas and graduated from Idalou High
School. He earned his Bachelors Degree and licensure
certification in Speech Language Pathology from Hardin
Simmons University. He completed his Masters Degree in
Rehabilitation Counseling
from the Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center
. Larry is a
licensed Speech Pathologist in Texas and has over 20 years
of experience in the public school system working with
students who have learning disabilities and ADHD. This is
his 4th year at Texas Tech working in Student Disability
Services.

Carol Scott, M.Ed., NCC, LPC
Associate Director
Carol grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and
graduated from Coronado High School. She then earned her
Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and Family
Studies from Texas Tech University and her Master’s of
Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas.
Carol is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed
Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. |

Tamara Mancini, M.Ed.
Assistant Director
Tamara earned her Bachelor of Arts in English in 1998, and
her Master of Higher Education in 2000, both from Texas Tech
University. While a student at Tech, she was involved in
various campus organizations and was a Resident Advisor
(RA), a tutor/mentor in athletics, and a Raider Recruiter.
Tamara is currently a member of the National Association of
Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A), American Association
of University Women, (AAUW), the Red Raider Club, and the
Texas Tech Alumni Association. |

Jeff Taylor
Assistant Director
Jeff received his Bachelor’s degree in Human
Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University in
2002. He has been with the TECHniques Center since August
2003 as a Senior Counselor. He has prior experience working
with incarcerated teenagers with AD/HD and learning
disabilities. Jeff is a presenter at the national College
Reading and Learning Association conference and has assisted
in the certification of dozens of TECHniques tutors. He had
his first book published in July 2005. |

Rebecca Daly Cofer, M.A.
Academic Counselor
Rebecca is originally from New Jersey, but spent 6 years
of her undergraduate and graduate career in Virginia where
she attended Virginia Tech. While at Virginia Tech, she
earned a Bachelors degree in English and History and a
Masters degree in English Literature. During her time as a
Virginia Tech Hokie, Rebecca was an instructor of freshman
English and an academic advisor for undecided students.
Rebecca was also a tutor at the university’s writing center,
working largely with English as a Second Language (ESL)
students and faculty. She also has a strong background in
the field of secondary education, which she feels has added
to her counseling and teaching philosophy.

Leigh Green, M.Ed.
Academic Counselor
Leigh earned a Bachelor of Science in Education majoring in Sport Management from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. Currently she is pursuing a Master’s in Counselor Education here at Texas Tech. Leigh has been with the TECHniques Center since April 2008 and served previously with the Advising Center at Texas Tech and University Student Housing. Leigh is currently a member of National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and the Association on Higher Education and Disabilities (AHEAD).

David Johnson
Academic Counselor
David was raised in El Paso, Texas. After receiving his
Bachelors in Business Administration at McMurry University
in Abilene, Texas, David went to work at a hospital for
three years. He then accepted a position at Texas Tech
University working in the Office of Admissions. David
recently started working in the TECHniques Center. He
currently is pursing his MBA at Texas Tech. |

Terri Greene
Senior Business Assistant
Terri was born and raised in Corpus
Christi, Texas. She has four children and six
grandchildren. Terri was in banking since 1994 before
making the career change to Texas Tech University in 2007. |
