Dr. Bill Gelber, Assistant Professor in the Acting/Directing program


 
 


Degrees Held: B.A. in Drama from the University of Houston, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University, M.F.A. in Directing and Ph.D. in Theatre History from the University of Texas at Austin.
Teaching emphasis: acting and period styles.
Specializations: Shakespearean verse speaking and staging, and Brecht, Beckett, and Pinter texts in performance
Creative Endeavors: Direct one play a year for the department, have been the director of Shakespeare in the Park for past two summers (04 and 05). Playwriting.
Research interests: transactional analysis, Shakespearean theatre history and performance, acting styles
Service Activities: Member of the Faculty Senate, Theatre and Dance Graduate Committee
Organizational Affiliations: Member of the Texas Educational Theatre Association and the Southwest Theatre and Film Association.
Awards: SWTA Chuck Sheffield Outstanding Faculty Award for Junior Colleges.
