Fine Arts Learning Community


Residents selecting to live in this environment should be dedicated to the promotion and pursuit of creative expression. Additionally, residents should share an interest in an artistically charged environment where the creative process is an essential element of their daily lives.

Unique Community Features:

*Performance space in the Wall/Gates lobby
*Fine Arts classroom/work space in Wall/Gates
*Student-staff focused on fine arts
*Hall location in close proximity to art, dance, music and theatre classrooms
*Faculty interaction outside of the classroom
*Mentoring between upper-classmen and first-year students
*Space to display student and/or faculty projects in the hall lobby

Community Goals:

*Pursuit of creativity and artistic development for a diverse group of students

Students will:

*Participate in artistic interaction, development and promotion
*Provide creative venues for the campus community
*Work closely with faculty and other students in exploring issues related to the arts and academic life
*Explore a variety of issues that affect the future of the arts in society
*Perform successfully in the academic arena
*Fully participate in hall activities
*Assist others in gaining appreciation and understanding of all arts
