Why Give? Each Gift Is Important
High standards of excellence are what keep Texas Tech University
Department of Theatre and Dance a leader in theatre and dance education
not only in the state but in this country. In 2001, when alumni
representing 75 years of Speech, Theatre, and Dance came together, there
were amazed looks all around at the accomplishments of those present
(and absent) in the world of performing arts. Represented were
distinguished educators, famous actors, noted film and television
producers, top-rated designers and technicians of all sorts and working
in every conceivable corner of the professions.
It is validation such as this that points to the enormous success of The
Department. But those successes are not easily won nor are they
inexpensive. As the base costs of education continue to increase, so
does the need to provide state-of-the-art facilities as well as training
opportunities to meet the innovations of these magical arts.
Your gift is vital to sustaining not only the quality of education that
students receive today, but it can be instrumental in forging a new
future for the performing arts and giving wings to innovative artists in
a myriad of ways. Knowing that your donation has helped shape the
education of a budding playwright or cutting-edge choreographer is a
satisfying feeling. Imagine those students some day winning a Tony or
directing the latest blockbuster because they had the support that gifts
like yours make possible.
Show your support of the Department of Theatre and Dance by making your
generous tax-free gift today.
How to give:
Join the Family Circle! When you join the Family Circle not only does
your gift supplement the operations of the Department of Theatre and
Dance, you also will see your name in all of the Mainstage programs and
newsletters and on the TTUT donor wall in the Maedgen Theatre Lobby.
For more information on additional types of gifts and ways to give,
visit the College of Visual and Performing Arts development site or the
Texas Tech University development site; and remember to stipulate your
