Degrees Held: B.A. Yale 1968; M.F.A. Yale 1972; D.F.A. Yale 1984; Fulbright Fellow at the Centre universitaire international de formation et de recherches dramatiques, Nancy (France) 1968-69
Main teaching and creative focus: Directing
Creative endeavors: Before coming to Tech, had years of experience as dramaturg and actor as
well as teacher and director. Recent plays directed at Tech: My Sister in This House, Anything Goes, Angels in America, Part I: Millennium Approaches
Research interests: Theatre history; dramaturgy, history of directing, French theatre
Service activities: Director of Texas Tech Ethics Initiative (1/2-time): UIL critic-judge
Awards: Molly Risso Outstanding University Drama Faculty Award (Southwest Theatre
Association)
Organizational Affiliations: Association for Theatre in Higher Education, American Society for Theatre Research, International Federation for Theatre Research, Southwest Theatre and Film Association, Texas Educational Theatre Association, Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas
Publications: Numerous articles on contemporary theatre and theatre history in publications of
leading repertory theatres (American Repertory Theatre, Yale Repertory Theatre,
American Conservatory Theatre) and in theatre journals
